TOPIC: EXPECT YOUR ELEVENTH HOUR’ MIRACLE*
BIBLE PASSAGE: MATHEW 20: 1-15

KEY VERSE:
The workers who were hired about the eleventh hour came and each received a denarius” – Mathew 20:9

One interesting thing about the parable of the workers in the vineyard, told by Jesus in today’s passage is that the labourers hired at the eleventh hour which was an hour next to the hour of closing, received the same amount of money as those hired at the third, sixth and ninth hour (v. 12).

Eleventh hour’ may refer to the latest possible time before it is too late. Something happening in the eleventh hour denotes something happening at almost the close of time. Eleventh hour miracle therefore means something that happened suddenly especially for those who had lost hope that such a thing will happen. That is, what happens when someone has started losing faith as a result of unanswered prayers.

This month (NOVEMBER) İs the eleventh month of the year. The timing of of this year started ticking from the first day of January. People came into the year with high hopes. Believers as well as unbelievers made new year resolutions. Children of God renewed their covenant with the Lord. Some of the expectations has been met, while others are yet to be fulfilled. Are you tired of waiting? Have you concluded that some resolutions will no longer come to pass? Do you think that expectation for this year is impossible, having come to the eleventh hour month?

Remember some of the labourers who came out with others in the morning were not hired like the others in the third, sixth and ninth hours. It is possible they were losing faith towards the eleventh-hour because, it was getting to the close of work yet they still waited. The land owner came to them at the eleventh hour. The first thing to notice is that they didn’t give up. The second thing is the miracle of grace, the land owner decided to pay all the workers the same amount not minding when each was hired. Also, the payment commenced with those hired at the eleventh hour (v.8).

Beloved, God’s sovereignty cannot be questioned. As the year is coming to an end, do not give up.

ACTION:
Expect a miracle every day of your life.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help me to always look up to you for a miracle everyday of my life, in Jesus name, amen.
