TOPIC: GOD IS LOOKING FOR YOU
BIBLE PASSAGE: JUDGES 6: 11 – 16

KEY VERSE:
The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. AmI not sending you? – Judges 6:14

God has been looking for people who by faith and obedience would allow Him to bless them here on earth. He is searching for those who will allow Him to show His power on their behalf.

Right from the Old Testament times, God wanted to make the Israelites His kind of people. He saved them from Egypt and led them by a mighty hand to possess a marvellous land He had prepared for them. A land flowing with milk and honey (Exodus 3:8). He made it a land of rest and abundance where no one could prevail over them as an enemy, and where no sickness or disease could stay on their bodies (Exodus 23:25). Even today, God still wants to lead His people into places of blessing and prosperity. To establish the lineage for Israel, God first looked for Abraham (Gen. 12) and took him from his father’s house to the land of Canaan. When He wanted to save the children of Israel from Egypt, He went looking for Moses in the wilderness.

When the children of Israel settled in the promised land, they disobeyed God on many occasions.

In our text today, God delivered the Israelites into the hand of the Midianites when they sinned against Him (Judges 6:1). To save Israel from the Midianites, God looked for Gideon. One prominent thing about the people God looked for and raised is that none of them could give any reason why God came looking for them. Abraham was hearing from God for the first time.

Moses gave a lot of excuses, and Gideon saw himself as unfit to lead the people to war. God saw Gideon as a mighty man of valour as opposed to how Gideon saw himself.

Beloved, despite your inadequacies, God wants to use you for His purpose. Wherever He has placed you – within your family, society, church, workplace, business place, etc, God is looking for your attention. He is speaking to you in diverse ways. It might be by a direct call like Abraham or by the burning bush like Moses or through His angel or any other means. Make yourself available, He will turn your weakness into strength.

ACTION:
Are you truly ready to go for the Lord? Then find out what He is calling you to do.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, in my weakness, please show your strength, grace and mercy. Teach me to say “Lord, here am I, send me”.
