TOPIC: THE ARM OF FLESH WILL FAIL YOỤ – 2
BIBLE PASSAGE: ISAIAH 31:1-9

KEY VERSE:
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but did not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the Lord – Isaiah 31:1

We have realized from the above passage that the Israelites were not looking unto God, the Holy One of Israel, but on the Egyptians who had many chariots and horsemen. They did not seek the Lord for help, but depended on men like them (v. 3). What are people depending on in our time? Let’s think about it. Some depend on technology, science, research, human power, connections, achievements, ancestry, government, and so on.

It is important to question how genuine we are in our assertion that we believe in the living God. Do we place our trust in our godfathers, or do we rely on human aid or on the unseen yet all- powerful God?

We heard the Lord’s voice cying in the city and that of the Prophet interpreting the judgement in verses 6 – 9: “Turn from your evil ways to God, cast away your idols, then deliverance will Come.”

Beloved brethren, our God has great power to save His people from the enemy (devil). He is indeed greater than any kind of force that may come against us today. Only fools will not rely on God for their deliverance in times of trouble. Like the Psalmist, will our confession become “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God”. No one who trusts in God will ever be ashamed.

ACTION:
Do away with the idols and sins in your life and trust the Lord absolutely.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You that I can trust Your protection against the powers of the enemy.
